OPAF Recognized by USTA

March 22, 2019 – Charlotte, NC – OPAF was recently recognized and rewarded by the United States Tennis Association Wheelchair Tennis Division for our work with grassroots programming across the country. OPAF Executive Director Robin Burton and Wheelchair instructor Jeff Kegler were invited to the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, FL for a two day workshop with other national leaders and providers of wheelchair tennis. Instruction was given on improving your programming and marketing as well as oncourt skills and drills. The workshop and all expenses were provided to OPAF by USTA at no charge.

Additionally, OPAF and First Volley Tennis were awarded grant funding from USTA Southern Section. Funding will be used for a First Volley Youth Clinic in conjunction with the Carolina Adaptive Standing Tennis Tournament to be held in Greensboro, NC in April 2019 as well as supporting the First Volley Tennis Clinics that will be provided to Adventure Amputee Camp in Bryson City, NC this July.
