Nicki Chamberlain-Simon named 2019 Dale Yasukawa Scholarship Winner

June 5, 2019 – Charlotte, NC – OPAF & The First Clinics is pleased to announce that Nicki Chamberlain-Simon has been selected the winner of the 2019 Dale Yasukawa Scholarship. Chamberlain-Simon is expected to graduate from Northwestern University’s Master program in Prosthetics & Orthotics in March 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Science Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) from Rice University with a semester abroad spent in Spain at the Universidad Carlos Ill de Madrid. She also has clinical research and volunteer experience, both here and in Costa Rica.

“I am very grateful and honored to be selected for the 2019 Yasukawa Award. Thank you to OPAF and its contributors for providing the scholarship and giving me the opportunity to be more involved in the O&P community” offered Nicki.

“We are thrilled with the selection of Nicki Chamberlain-Simon as the 2019 scholarship winner. Nicki continues a long line of excellent candidates from NUPOC to focus on education, clinical care and volunteerism” said OPAF Executive Director, Robin Burton.

Chamberlain-Simon will receive a $1000.00 scholarship to further her education by attending a national, regional or local chapter or society meeting. Funds can also be used for education purposes.
