April 24, 2018 – Lawall Orthotics & Prosthetics recently hosted a First Stride Training and Clinic at Moss Rehabilitation in Elkins Park, PA. Lawall had over 50 therapists plus O & P professionals for the training session of the day, led by Sheila Clemens, Ph.D. This was the largest training session for First Stride yet.
Dr. Clemens gave a three hour presentation focusing on an introduction to gait, followed by a two hour hands on train the train First Stride Clinic with individuals with lower limb amputations. Feedback included:
Enthusiastic and very clear presentation. Progressive and clear. Made me feel like I could do this! Wish is could only be longer. I think I would love to take a gait class from Dr. Clemens
I didn’t know it was for instructors. Very instructional, but that was okay, in fact, made it even better Tom Jordan, Amputee
An Excellent Program. The day went very quickly
Marianne Mesure, PT
Lawall plans to follow up this program with a First Things First Training and Clinic this fall in the Philadelphia area for their patients, their community and their referral sources.
